Following the theme we began with Neptune’s Direct/Retro wave-cycle, let’s consider how Saturn turning Direct on June 25, 2012 in Libra might function our respective charts. A key question is: which relationships did you restructure or end in these last 4.5 months, since Saturn turned Retro on February 7th, 2012? If it is a restructured relationship, Saturn turning Direct can help it be more productive and purposeful. If it ended during Saturn Retro, you'll see the effects of its absence from your life with Saturn Direct. Saturn brings life lessons that have real and practical consequences, so it’s Retro/Direct wave in Libra wants us to be responsible for our relationships and strive for justice and balance in dealing with others.
Naturally, the house that Saturn is moving through will tell the rest of the story for each individual, as well as any planets being aspected on route, backwards and forwards.
Since I know myself better than I know anyone else – and I won’t breach any confidentiality agreement by using myself as an example …
My Natal Saturn is 0 degree Libra in my 6th house, so having had my 2nd Saturn Return, I am in what Dr. Oskar Adler calls “the third School of Life. Saturn in Libra pertains to legal status between parties, and in my 6th house, my health and work life were impacted. When Saturn turned Retro in February, a health woe I’d been living with for a year without knowing what it was reached a crisis and required surgery, and signing waiver and consent papers to put my life in others’ hands. They all came through, and so did I, with a renewed sense of life purpose.
Around then, I also asked three people with whom I had writing projects (Saturn rules my 9th house of publishing) to commit to finishing them with me. All agreed to complete these works connected to Masters on the other side – Isabel Hickey and Oskar Adler. Each meant restructuring collaborations and revisiting legalities. All will be published with Saturn Direct after an 80-year, 30-year and 10-year wait! Saturn Retro also ended a close relationship, bringing more legal matters needing time and focus to handle properly. I will feel her absence (due to death) keenly going forward.
How will Saturn’s Retro-Direct wave affect you? Saturn is unfinished business and time. Once passed (past), time is gone, so there is no time like the present, and no present (gift) better than time. Saturn Retro said ‘get right with your relationships.’ Direct, Saturn says ‘build upon past ties with new commitment.’
How to know if you’re doing it right? Notice your sense of pride (Saturn). False pride brings fear that others may discover that you did not earn your status by real effort. Deserved pride arises from doing your best and recognizing that your efforts made a positive difference in others’ lives, or at least did not further burden others in inequitable ways.
Blessings,
Amy Shapiro
