Interesting concept, I thought.
The caller was frustrated because the romantic relationships she wanted didn't work. The career she wanted, didn't work. Something beyond her control always seemed to block what she wanted in her life. Other people seemed to always get what they wanted in their life so why couldn't she? The caller just didn't understand why life had to be so frustrating.
Darren went on to tell the caller that her Will was blocked at a young age by her father's constant anger and controlling nature (I missed the first part where she must have talked about this). Darren said that her father constantly blocked her Will as a child, by never letting her have her own way. Fast forward into adulthood and Darren explains why everything she seems to want in life is blocked by a Paralysis of Will which started in childhood.
I think we can all understand not getting a candy bar we wanted or not staying out later to play with our friends, but if your will is constantly denied by a parental figure, it is conceivable that we would carry that frustration into our adult lives. If a child constantly hears NO, it is reasonable to assume that they will have low self esteem and manifest NO all the time in their adult life, perpetuating the problem and keeping them in a low energy life.
Imagine always being rejected in every aspect of your life? Every romantic partner you're attracted to says NO. Every job interview you go on, you hear a NO Thank you. Every idea you have is shot down. Life becomes a replay of controlling mommy or angry daddy...until you recognize it and change it.
Darren advised this caller that they needed to do some radical forgiveness in order to release the energy of a Paralyzed Will. He told the caller to repeat his signature mantra Infinite Love and Gratitude several times and set the intention to forgive and release the anger from the past.
Perhaps we all go through times when we feel our Will is Paralyzed--when nothing seems to go our way. For most of us, it's a cyclical energy that eventually frees itself and moves on. For those of us who grew up with controlling, angry parents, we have more work to do in forgiving the past and letting go. This frees our Will to experience the miracle of creating something unique to the world and seeing it accepted by others. When our Will is free, we create successful businesses, satisfying intimate relationships, and our talents are valued and appreciated by others.
The question is, are you going to allow your parents or your past to continue to paralyze Your Will or are you going to break free and get what you want out of life?
