Astrological Forecast April 2012

April is a month where we finally start to run on all cylinders. The New Year started with a bang of new beginnings then we saw a series of stall outs when Mars, the planet of action and energy, went retrograde on January 24 along with Mercury, the planet of communication, going retrograde March 12. The good news is that both planets are turning direct in April when plans and projects started earlier in the year will get back on track.

Mercury has been retrograde since March 11 and will turn direct April 4. Mercury tip toed back into Pisces on March 24 giving you another chance to drink in inspirational thoughts and dreams, and maybe a little creative writing. When Mercury is retrograde, it’s not a good time to make commitments, sign contracts or make major purchases. You might find yourself trying to back out of decisions you made after the planet goes direct. You may also hear from old friends and flames but they come and go-- back into the past by the time the planet goes direct where they probably belong.

The Sun moved into the fire sign of Aries to join the planet Uranus there on March 20 and will stay there until April 19 which makes it a great time for new beginnings, starting new projects, and planting seeds—ideas and otherwise. The Sun in Aries is about focusing on Self. It’s time to ask, What Do I Want? It’s time to clearly define what it is YOU need and want in any given situation then go out and make it happen. The Sun moves into a trine (harmonious) aspect with Pluto (Power) on April 27. It’s a great time to take that meeting or schedule that job interview to step into your personal power.

If all that Aries energy sounds too hot to handle, On April 4, Venus will be in Gemini, an air sign, stirring things up. With Venus, the planet of love, in Gemini, the sign of chatter, it’s all about a great social conversation this month. Facebook and Twitter will be buzzing. It’s a wonderful month to get out of the house and meet new people. It takes little effort to start impromptu discussions and you should find yourself meeting new friends and chatting about everything under the Sun. Venus will stay in Gemini for most of the summer with a retrograde phase starting mid May. It’s time to come out of your winter hibernation and have some fun.

On April 6, the full moon will be in Libra opposing the Sun in Aries. Libra is all about relationships and keeping things fair and balanced. Aries is about Me, Me, Me. The full moon stirs up the emotions. With a full moon, one person plays the Aries, self centered role, the other person plays the pleasing partner Libra role. When the full moon comes, it brings everything to a head when enough is enough. The good news is that Mercury will still be in Pisces which helps to smooth things over with thoughts of empathy available to both sides.

Mars will be direct in Virgo on April 13. Virgo is the sign of details and analysis which gives you the energy and focus for completing a work project. When Mars is in Virgo, it is a good time for taking an active role in getting healthy. Join Weight Watchers. Take your vitamins. Look into supplements. Virgo rules health and hygiene. If you started an exercise routine earlier in the year and got lazy, you’ll feel an extra spark to get up and go when Mars goes direct mid April. It’s also a great time to clean out the garage and take some clothing to Good Will.

On April 17, Mercury drives back into the sign of no nonsense Aries and you’ll be less introspective and have fire in your belly to boldly communicate your position again. Mercury in Aries makes you say things impulsively. Be sure you mean what you say and follow through with what you promised. Keep your road rage in check.

On April 19, the Sun rolls into the sign of Taurus until May 20. Taurus is great with money—saving and investing it (Capricorns are good at managing it, Virgos are good at counting it), so it’s a good time to look at your personal finances and get them in order. Taurus loves to spend money on sensual delights like good food, wine, music and a little love and affection. It’s a good time to treat yourself and your partner to a massage, a fine meal, and some romance to wake up the senses.

The New Moon in Taurus is Saturday, April 21. It’s a good day to start a savings account or open an IRA to optimize your chance for personal financial comfort and success. It’s also a good day to go shopping and pick up a few of those little luxuries you’ve been putting off all winter. Mercury will be direct. Mars will be direct. There’s nothing stopping you from satisfying your senses this month!
