The Morning Breeze Has Secrets to Tell

I woke up at 4:30 this morning. As I lay there and couldn’t get back to sleep, I thought of a Rumi quote I’ve heard Wayne Dyer use many times, “The morning breeze has secrets tell. Do not go back to sleep.”

So I didn’t. I couldn’t. The ocean was calling me…pulling and drawing me in like the tide. The ocean is my friend. We typically meet daily at sunset but today, my friend requested my presence at sunrise. With no make up and pulling on yesterday’s jeans, I got up and walked on my favorite beach--Wallis Sands. As I looked around in the dark, I noticed that I was the only person who accepted the invitation to the most spectacular light show on earth. I waited patiently in the darkened sandy theatre--amazed but glad I had a completely solo audience with the sea.

Before the star of the show made an appearance, I was treated to a splattering display of luminescent rainbow lights radiating out over the shore washing over the sea gulls congregating on the beach as they looked for crabs. I could hear the soft motors of lobster fishermen starting their day with a goal to feed the masses the best seafood in the world as they made their way across the multi colored horizon. In the distance, an oil tanker sat near the Isles of Shoals, waiting to pull into port as ships have done for hundreds of years.

An hour went by before I saw a white hot light peek out from behind the horizontal curtain. Like the birth of something new, it slowly came out of obscurity --inch by inch until, in all its glory. It was larger than life and burned brightly in the sky-- now center stage for all the world to see...or at least for those on the east coast.

As I watched, I realized that I was the first person in America to see the sun rise today. I witnessed a birth that was mirroring the birth of something new in me coming to light…and I knew exactly what that was. Indeed, the morning breeze has secrets to tell. Do not go back to sleep.

Riding out Irene: A practice in maintaining balance?

I want to say, upfront, that I am truly grateful that I came through the storm as well as I did as did, it seems, all my friends. (My family is in the Midwest.) I am also grateful that the storm was not any stronger than it was. I am, however, aware of the damage that was done and am sad for all those who had to go through the chaos and trauma of Irene and want to continue to send out light and prayers for those who are suffering.

Before the storm, I was listening to all the forecasting going on and wondering what I should do about preparing—prepare over the top, prepare somewhat or don’t prepare at all. Where would I find the necessary balance that would allow me to be safe yet not go crazy with worry and running errands to buy stuff?

I seemed to make a number of decisions that, after the fact, made me decide that I had unconsciously been practicing maintaining balance in the face of the storm. First, I decided not to worry about the storm. I could not change its track or intensity. What I could do was gather information about the storm while not spending hours listening to the weather forecasts.

Second, I looked at my situation and determined, based on my knowledge of the storm and my living situation what I could do to prepare. I had conversed with my angels and guides and was told that my community would have lots of rain and wind, but that it would essentially be fine. That said, I decided to do some preparation—buying some bottled water and additional food, making sure that I had working batteries, checking some books out of the library. I made sure to be off the roads at 5 pm Saturday as requested by the Governor. All just in case. I decided that with this middle of the road preparation I would be fine. On Sunday, I spent my time doing yoga, reading, knitting, tinkering on the computer, and occasionally reporting into my sisters.

But, I think my most important decision was to remain calm. I want to use the lessons I learned from riding out this storm in the future to help me keep my balance in life.

What practices do you have for maintaining balance?

Welcome Home

Why does pain hurt so much ? Where does it come from ? Why is it so paralysing ? When do we start noticing it ? When do we stop noticing it ? What is it teaching us ?

At the moment my hands are old, my neck is tired, my back and legs need to rest. I want to sleep. Yet I am sitting here writing about it ? Is it because I don't respect my body enough ? Is it because I don't trust pain as a gauge of reality. What is reality ? “ I am perfect, whole and complete”, so why don't I feel like that ? Why is my body full of frustration ?

They say that our bodies reflect how peaceful our minds are ... well mine is still in Afghanistan. I hope there'll be a reprieve, soon. Maybe I can then have a 'home coming', honouring where I've been and appreciating where I am.

I don't believe my body. I know I am healthy and full of energy. I know I am happy and bouncy. I know I can't wait to jump into the next experience and I resent my body telling me otherwise.

Recently I have been finding peace with contrast and shadow with hate and love, with me. Maybe I will soon be able to accept and respect my body when it has had enough. Maybe my mind and body will once again marry and instead of pushing my arms and my weakened heart into the square buttons in front of me to produce, maybe I will lie in my hammock somewhere, anywhere and just stop. Maybe I will never start again, maybe that's what I'm afraid of ... ?

What would it be like to stop ? Would I not be or just not do or neither ? Isn't stopping just as painful ?

Isn't death frightening ? The stillness, the emptiness. Isn't it comforting ? But there is no more, or is there ? Is it like being by your favourite stream, watching your favourite person throw ball for your favourite dog as your favourite sun hits it's favourite bough ? Isn't it like that forever, except you don't think about leaving, about doing, about needing ? It never ends and it always feels good, isn't that what it's like ?

Sometimes the things we are most afraid of are the things we need most. Sometimes we tell ourselves what we need without really listening to ourselves. Sometimes we 'gang up on ourselves'. Sometimes we create our own pain. Sometimes there is no pain, just peace. Sometimes it feels good, even awesome and it's okay.

Sometimes it doesn't have to hurt and it's okay. Sometimes hurting is healing and peeling, sometimes it's sore. Sometimes there's more. I have the more. I am just learning to accept it, to welcome it home, to greet it with open arms and to always be able to let it go. My more is me and never leaves me. My more never dies and I need never fear it. My more is available all day, every day. It just is. Welcome home.

The Gentle Way II - Book Review

The Gentle Way IIThe Gentle Way II – A Self Help Guide For Those Who Believe in Angels-Benevolent Outcomes: The Story Continues by Tom T. Moore is a continuation of his original book The Gentle Way published in 2006 which talks about connecting with your guardian angels through the use of a spiritual technique called the Request for a Most Benevolent Outcome—a very language specific prayer to ask for angelic assistance. The Gentle Way II is a collection of personal experiences from people around the world who wrote to the author after The Gentle Way was published to tell him about their amazing experiences using this technique.

The book is structured as a reference guide with 21 sections that can be referred to when specific situations arise. Topics that include Benevolent Outcomes for Your Finances, Benevolent Outcomes for Your Health, Benevolent Outcomes for Relationships, and Benevolent Outcomes for Jobs and Work and more. Each section of the book is full of suggested language a reader can use along with personal stories of how other readers have connected with their guardian angels by using Tom’s easy technique—requesting a Most Benevolent Outcome or as he calls it, an MBO.

An example of MBO language you can use if you’re looking for a new job includes, “I request a most benevolent outcome for the perfect job for me. Thank You.” Simple and to the point.

If you want to ask for assistance for someone else if they’re in trouble or in the hospital, you can say, “I ask that any and all beings assist my friend with (whatever problem he/she is having) and may it be the most benevolent outcome, “Tom says that, “You use the phrase ‘any and all beings’ because this could mean a man, woman, child, rescue, dog, cat or even an angel come physical—anyone who might assist in manifesting a benevolent outcome.” Sometimes we need all the help we can get.

The MBO technique started when Tom received guidance in a meditation from his own guardian angel who said that asking for angelic assistance does not have to be complicated. It can be…well…gentle. Tom says that, “A Most Benevolent Outcome (MBOs), are specific requests that you say when you desire assistance from your guardian angel. Your guardian angel will help you with even the most mundane requests…” Tom’s guidance from his guardian angel is consistent with angelic guidance has been documented throughout the ages. What’s new is the specific technique/language for asking for that assistance and the amazing stories people are telling about using this spiritual tool.
In The Gentle Way II, Tom says that, “When you start requesting MBOs, you:

• Increase your awareness

• Feel a lightening of spirit

• Lower the level of fear in your life

• Lower the level of stress in your life

• Handle problems and challenges

• Have more success in life

• Raise your vibrational life

• Increase your spirituality

Tom Moore’s MBO technique is saturated with positive intention for a win-win outcome for all parties concerned. I think we can all appreciate a spiritual practice that will raise our vibration and let us feel lighter as a result of surrendering to a higher vibratory energy that has all of our best interests at heart.

The Gentle Way II is inspiring and gives the reader comfort that they are surrounded by unseen energies that want to assist navigating peaceful outcomes to their daily concerns. I started using MBOs with good results about a year ago when I read Tom’s first book The Gentle Way. My friends have tried the technique and have also reported positive results.

In these turbulent times, requesting a most benevolent outcome (asking for angelic assistance) can be your life raft for getting through the rapids of the 21st century challenges we face. I highly recommend that you read The Gentle Way and The Gentle Way II and experiment with asking for a Most Benevolent Outcome for the issues you face in your life.

Do You Fear or Respect Mother Nature?

Why is fear always associated with Hurricanes? Sure, Hurricanes can do damage but they can also give us an awesome display of mother nature's power and beauty.

I walk on Wallis Sands Beach in Rye, New Hampshire almost daily. There’s an energy on that beach that most regulars grow to know in their soul. When we’re away from it for too long, it calls our name.

Wallis Sands is like a good friend. No matter what mood you're in that day, you always feel better after walking her shores. The sun, water, and sand are always inviting. The birds welcome you with their presence, curiosity and sometimes put on a show by flying clams into the air and letting them fall out of the sky to crack them open. Most days are just peaceful.

Today, while Irene was visiting Wallis Sands, my friend Dorothy Morgan and I decided to take a drive for an impromptu visit. We got out of the car and were barely able to make to the edge of the parking lot due to the shear force of the wind. We couldn't even see the ocean because the winds and sand were ripping so hard against our face, we had to get back into the car. Perhaps Wallis Sands didn’t want any additional visitors while she was entertaining Irene for the day. She told us in no uncertain terms to leave.

The experience was highly unusual. Imagine a good friend who is usually calm and serene getting madder than hell? Well, that's was my friend Wallis Sands was like today. Irene was obviously a high maintenance guest for our favorite beach.
As Dorothy and I drove away from Wallis Sands, we passed the sea gulls all lined up next to each other in the parking lot behind the locked gate—similar to humans locked up in their own homes to ride out the storm. Dorothy pointed out that all the gray back sea gulls were in one group and the dark back sea gulls were huddled together in another group in the lot. Interesting.

As we drove further down the road, we passed a group of snowy egrets  huddled together in the marsh. It occurred to me that birds are no different than people during a storm. Most families were huddled around the television in their home. The birds were huddled together in theirs.

During the years I have walked daily on Wallis Sands, I’ve come to appreciate the ocean moods. Most days, she is pleasant, soothing and supportive. Other days, you must respect her temper and keep your distance or risk getting hurt by her fury.

On days like this, I’m reminded of the awesome power of nature and the respect it commands from all living creatures…including those humans who think they know everything but find they have no control over nature’s moods.

Perhaps we should replace fear of hurricanes with respect for their power and influence.

You Can Heal Your Life Movie Review

You Can Heal Your Life, the movie, expanded versionEvery thought you have and every word you speak is creating your future. It’s simple but not easy. You begin to be aware of what you didn’t want in your life and how you are contributing to it. This has been around forever but for some reason within the last 20 years, the universe has wanted [this message] to go out to all people that are ready for it…Our thoughts go out into the universe and are brought back to us as experience. Once you can accept this, you can begin to deliberately create your life.” Louise Hay-You Can Heal Your Life-The Movie.

Looking back over the year, I must say that it was paradoxical. It was the most peaceful year I’ve ever had yet it was also filled with resistance. I worked mostly out of my home office rather than traveling around the world as I usually do. This allowed me to walk on the beach every day, catch up on my reading and start two new businesses. On the other hand, I had to re-evaluate some friendships in my life. I had some challenges with contractors working on a home I was renovating, and a certain romantic interest proved to be perplexing. I didn’t sit down and do a year (more like a life) in review until I received a gift from my friends at Hay House publishing—Louise Hay’s new movie, You Can Heal Your Life.

Affirmation Flash Back

Although I don’t know Louise personally, she and I go waaay back…to the 80’s that is. I was first introduced to her while taking a psychic development class in Boston. The instructor, Julianna Kallas, introduced me to metaphysical and spiritual principles including meditation, channeling, auras, clairvoyance, claiaudience, clairsentience, and psychometry. We were taught about the importance of energy and how raising our vibration through meditation could help us connect more easily to the energy of the universe—and heal our lives in whatever area appeared to be falling apart.

Julianna copied pages from Louise’s book, You Can Heal Your Life, and handed them to the class. Maybe that was a copyright infringement but the whole class turned out to be Hay House customers for life. Julianna gave us reading assignments and told us to practice the affirmation process that Louise outlined in her book. We would return back the following week and discuss how our lives had changed as a result of doing daily affirmations. Everyone in the class had a positive change which they could identify.

You Can Heal Your Life-The Movie

There are three distinct sections on the dvd-- the movie which introduces you to the concept that your thinking influences the direction of your life. The movie was directed by Hay House Radio host and Spiritual Cinema Circle Founder Gay Hendricks. The movie is tastefully produced and very convincingly demonstrates how the average person goes about their day thinking mostly in negative terms about the people around them, their work, their financial status, their life circumstances and mostly about themselves then wonder why things don’t change or keep getting worse. Everyone can identify with the main character. This is where Louise and her stable of great Hay House authors step in and show you how to train your mind to think differently.

The two other sections of the dvd include in-depth interviews with a number of Hay House authors and a section where you can practice affirmations with Louise. The background music used for the affirmations is almost hypnotic.

Clean Out the Cobwebs

I decided to listen to the affirmations section of the movie while I did the dishes. I started the dishes at 6 PM. As a result of doing affirmations with Louise, I got into a groove and repeated them while I moved on to cleaning my whole house including hanging pictures that had been sitting on the floor for a year and screwing in switch and electrical plates that were sitting on the counter for six months since the renovations were complete. I found a feather duster I never knew I had—a left over from the maid service who used to clean my house. I repeated affirmations and tidied up my house from 6 PM until 1 AM in the morning! I think I was cleaning more than my house. I felt like I was cleaning out the cobwebs of my brain since the 80’s—and there were a lot of them in there.

Sprouts!

In the movie, Louise says that you may not see big dramatic change within 24 hours of starting the affirmation process (although that’s not impossible), you will be begin to see your garden sprout with small changes. I saw my sprouts within 24 hours. I got an email from someone who had been bucking me for two weeks. All of sudden he changed his position and the situation flowed. I had applied to participate on my local Zoning Board of Adjustment. The application was being held up while two City Councilors were fighting with each other—about my application. Within 24 hours, I was approved unanimously to serve on the Board. I was having problems with my cell phone service. I called to get it fixed and was given a $50 credit on my bill. It turned out that the battery overheated. I just had to take my battery out and put it back in and the service reconnected. All of these events occurred within 24 hours of watching and practicing the affirmations in Louise Hay’s movie. I like sprouts. I’ll take healthy sprouts over weeds any day.

Create Your New Year

Over the years, affirmations have been in the back of my mind but not the forefront. I did say them every day but maybe not with the conviction they and I deserve. Louise Hay’s new movie, You Can Heal Your Life, brought me back to a time when the practice of affirmations were a part of my daily life. I had to stop and wonder why on earth I jumped off that train somewhere along the line. Affirmations always worked. When I do them, I always have a noticeable change in my life. Where have I been all these years!

The resistance I was experiencing was showing signs of easing—even if it were baby steps. The end of the year is the best time to clean out the cobwebs, start doing affirmations again, and watch your life sprout with positive change. With the affirmation process, you can proactively choose which direction your life will take in the New Year. At the very least (as Louise says), “You’ll start getting the parking spaces and green lights.”

Affirmations to Practice

Here are a few affirmations from the movie to clean out the cobwebs and get your life sprouting in the right direction again:

I learn from experience and everything I touch is a success.

• I release the past and I am free to love fully in the present.

• I live in harmony and balance with everyone I know.

• I am one with the creative power of the universe and this connection brings me fulfillment and abundance.

• I work at a job I truly love.

I express myself creatively through my work and I earn a good income doing it.

• I feel a vibrant wellness in my body increase every day.

Hereafter - Movie Review

Hereafter

The movie "Hereafter" is a story about three people who are touched by death in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cecile De France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Jay Mohr), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will forever changed by what they believe might--or must--exist in the hereafter.

Within days of the movie Hereafter coming out, I got calls from friends asking me
what my thoughts were about the movie. Immediately after one of the calls, I jumped in my car and drove to a local theatre. Just the sound of the title HEREAFTER sounds like it might be give the viewer a metaphysically minded experience. The Director is Clint Eastwood, typically known for quality films. It was nice and surprising to hear that he was taking on a topic that is very personal to most people yet hardly ever talked about. I was hoping the movie would provoke a discussion about death and what happens when we die. I strongly feel that by the end of this century--the Age of Energy, the science community will be able to explain the process of death and what happens when we move from a physical energetic state to a non-physical state of being. Why all the mystery really? It's like the world is still flat when it comes to the concept of death/transition. I suppose we don't hear about the real experimentation taking place on this topic, because there's no money to be made by drug companies for the discovery. Thus we wait.

As the intro says, the movie is split into three distinctively separate stories with people in the U.S, France and the UK. I had to wonder while I was watching the movie if this was purposely written to attract and market to an international audience. At the end, their lives intersect. The movie moves slowly but has some great photography when it comes to the French Journalist's experience with death. Her dramatic scene is interesting to watch but not believable--but then we want to be entertained, right?

If you're looking for a mediumship display reminiscent of John Edward or Suzanne Northrup, you might be disappointed. There's not a whole lotta metaphysical moving and shaking. It's more a movie of going within rather than a smoke and mirrors metaphysical experience.

All in all, I would say it's worthy of seeing. It's not a great date flick but if you're like me and like to experience someone else's story, then you might enjoy the experience.

I have to say that I didn't feel satisfied with the ending. I thought the movie began when it ended. It's like an author giving you the background of the characters in a story then ending the book before they've had a chance to do anything together. It left me wanting to see Hereafter II to see what happens next and how the story progresses.

The Secret of Instant Healing - Book Review

The Secret of Instant Healing

This book bewilders me. On one hand, it teaches the reader to heal themselves using present moment awareness. On the other hand, if we could really heal ourselves instantly by focusing on the present moment, wouldn’t we have figured that out by now? I know we have busy lives but when it comes to being sick, we usually have a lot of free time on our hands.

On one level, it makes sense. We can tap into universal source energy to heal ourselves. We’ve heard about the power of intention to heal before. But does it really work…consistently?

Dr. Frank Kinslow says it does. He says, “If you become aware of an arthritic knee, indigestion, a headache, anger or fear, the organizing genius of awareness will fix what is broken.”

Hmmm… seems too easy. He realizes this and says, “If it seems as if I have overinflated the role of awareness in attuning your life to your inherent wisdom, I have not. It will only take a few minutes to discover the accuracy of my assertion.”

As I was reading, I thought, this man is either a genius or snake oil salesman.

The back cover says:

Quantum Entrainment:

• Works in Minutes
• Is easily taught
• Requires no special training
• Even works on pets

Sounds like the back of a nineteenth century elixir bottle.

I took up Dr. Kinslow’s claim that it “Even works on pets,” and used his technique on my cat Maxfield who was having a coughing jag as I was reading the book. I focused on the present moment, got into my Home Frequency as Penney Peirce calls it, then I put one finger on his throat which he was none too happy about and one finger on his belly. Dr. Kinslow calls this Triangulation or a three way Quantum Entrainment technique for healing someone…or some cat in my case.

I don’t want to give away the whole secret sauce of his technique. You’ll have to read the book. What I do know is that Max stopped coughing when I did this. A few days later, he coughed again and I tried it again. It worked. But, it didn’t heal him permanently…which brings me back to bewilderment. Dr. Kinslow claims that it only takes a few seconds to be in the triangulation position for the technique to heal. I found that it was true in the moment but not subsequent moments.

Either I need more practice or this technique only heals in the present moment but not longer…but of course, longer is an illusion since there is only the present moment. Tricky.

As we move into the Age of Energy, Dr. Kinslow may very well be considered a healing pioneer. Most pioneers are looked at with some degree of skepticism at first. Unfortunately for most, it seems their work is only appreciated when they’re dead!

In the present moment future, the use of drugs to heal ourselves may very much look like the nineteenth century use of elixirs rather than Quantum Entrainment. We may all be using triangulation techniques to heal our ailments.

So, I end where I began…bewildered. The Secret of Instant Healing is worth reading. The techniques are worth trying and contemplating. It’s easy, and it may work for you. If I were in pain, I would definitely give it a try. All I can say is Maxfield has been generally happy with the outcome but would prefer a more permanent solution to his coughing ailment.

Astrology Forecast for September 2011

Let’s take a good look at September and see what it is the universe wants us know.  We start the month, as always, with a Virgo Sun. Paying attention to the details is highlighted. We get back into our routines, or at least find a new routine that is suitable for now. In the northern hemisphere, we have just finished most of our summer and now everyone and everything is feeling the cool down, evenings when a sweater is needed. This also is a signal for the natural world to start stocking up, thinking about the coming cold weather and for some the lack of food.

While we humans do have the capacity to store and buy food whenever we want, we are still ruled by the universal energy that asks, can you make it through the winter?  Take stock and look at what you have. These are the harvest properties of Virgo, and the reason anyone who is a Virgo or has Virgo dominate in some other way in their chart will be picky, very detail oriented, and want to organize those around them. Take notice of this and follow along. We are all affected by the Sun and the planets and this is what we are feeling we need to do now.

Labor Day weekend is the unofficial start of Fall, so let’s take a quick look at the aspects this weekend. We have a Moon in Scorpio. Passion and transformation are key words for this weekend. It’s the transformation of summer to fall and of fun to serious work. We are transforming this weekend. Be sure to include something you are passionate about for added fun as the Moon will move into Sagittarius before the weekend is through and they do love to play. So should we!

On September 6th, we have the Moon and Pluto conjunct in Capricorn. It will seem like the end of fun now and all we can see is the work in front of us. I know it’s not the best news in the world. If we are to have fun here and there we must also work to earn the living so we can play later.

September 9th Mercury moved back into Virgo. We can get our lives moving forward a bit quicker now that Mercury is past its’ retrograde numbers. He retraced his steps over the last three weeks, and now he is in new territory. We can use this Virgo energy to gather any and all ideas around us that are work related more than anything else. Pay attention to all the little details. We will be rewarded in the long run. This will be especially true for those of us who have very little Virgo in our charts. Right now, we have the opportunity to really dig in deep and gather those details that will be important later. Keep a journal or log. You will use it later in the year.

September 12th Mercury and Pluto are playing nice and we have the Full Moon in Pisces. Mercury has finally passed the point of retrograde, so he is free to say new things. What are he and Pluto talking about now? Well, with these two as they are for the next day and with the Full Moon in Pisces, we can expect a lot of probing questions like the 2 year old who says WHY all the time. We are in a phase when we want to know why. This is the conversation Mercury and Pluto are having. They are talking back and forth about anything and everything. If ever you needed some time or “A” time to really dig deep into something that is important to you, then today is a good day to start thanks to Mercury and Pluto playing nice and being cooperative. We can get straight to the point as long as we take the time.

At 5:27 a.m., we have the Full Moon in Pisces. So what is it that this Full Moon is here to make us aware of? Let’s see. The things we are focusing on when the Moon is in Pisces typically include our imagination, inner happiness, psychic sensitivity, trusting our intuition, spiritual healing, compassion, and releasing helplessness. We be feeling like a victim or having that mentality and indulging in defeatist attitudes, procrastination, panic attacks, deception, addictions, and disappointments.

This Full Moon is in the 1st/7th houses (on the east coast) so we are blessed to know that our relationships are also on alert. Besides feeling as if we have no boundaries and all of our intuition and sensitivity are all messed up, we get to look at how these things play out in our personal relationships. Not every relationship we have, but at least one will need some adjustments of some kind in regards to the list above.
As most of us know, the Full Moon is here to heighten our awareness around something we are feeling and thus allow us to release whatever is not in our best interest. Endings are typical at the Full Moon and this is what I recommend you implement as well. Choose what you want to release. Choose from the list above that says “Things we focus on when the Moon is in Pisces.” Write down what may be blocking you from having what you want and need in your life--only you know what that is. Here are a few ideas to help you get your thoughts moving:
·         “I release all feelings of helplessness”
·         “I release my feelings of disappointment in regards to _______”
·         “I release all doubt that I am intuitive”
·         “I easily find myself free of addiction to ________”

With the Sun in Virgo and the Moon in Pisces there is pull between Spirit and Matter on this day. The Virgo Sun is all about the facts and details. The Pisces Moon is all about the collective and what is for the good of everyone. Full Moons are always about the polarity and the opposition of forces.

So later in the day, 12 and 15 hours after the Full Moon, we have the Moon trine to Mars. Action around the home can be taken if that is part of your agenda or need during this Full Moon time period. The Moon will also be opposite to Venus. The opposition could involve conflict with a woman symbolized by the moon or we may have an emotional conflict within ourselves about something we value symbolized by Venus. Our belief and/or how we see something can change today due to all of these aspects.

Do not be alarmed if something leaves your life today, it is for the best.

On September 14th Venus moves into Libra and any and most likely all relationships will be examined over the next few weeks. Venus in Libra is in her natural sign. What do we value when she is in Libra? We value our relationships. Without fail, we will focus on them and ask some probing questions of ourselves.  What they are like? What needs to change? What is good? Is it balanced? Now that last part is the key factory with Venus in Libra…Is my relationship balanced? Even if it isn’t, it may not be easy to fix or identify what the issue is. Libra is good at seeing where things are out of balance but not so good at fixing that imbalance. So all this transit of Venus in Libra may do is make us aware of what is out of balance.

On September 17th Venus and Uranus are in an opposition to each other and that will cause an awareness of some kind in regards to the things we value and as already mentioned our relationships. Expect something unexpected around the 17th of September.

We also have Pluto moving direct on September 16th so in essence, it is stationary for a couple days. Pluto in Capricorn with all this relationship stuff going on will surely help to transform our relationships into something that they are not before this time.

Mars will enter Leo on September 18th and heighten our sexual energy within these relationships or in a new relationship meant just for that purpose. Fire sign energy is strong, but Leo is also fixed energy so do what you can to not become obsessive about someone or something. This is only a temporary feeling that will last a few weeks. It can be fun, but if you are looking for something long lasting as the Saturn transits are suggesting, this is not the time to start a new relationship.

On September 23rd we enter Fall. The equinox is at 5:05 a.m. east coast time. The year is balanced once again. We should revel in the day and enjoy our moment of equilibrium. But it will be short lived as the Moon is causing some issues with Pluto and our need to cling. Then there is Mars and Uranus playing nice, so we feel the need to move forward and get something done. Thinking outside the box is relevant now, the same old will not work anymore.

On September 25th Mercury moves into Libra. At this point, we may say anything just to keep the peace or be in a relationship whichever is more important to us. Mercury in Libra can be a person who is a great speaker-- one who knows all the right things to say all the time, but at what cost? Keep this in mind over the next three weeks as Mercury transits through Libra. Are you willing to tell a lie just to keep the peace or are you willing to throw everything out of balance and be truthful? I know it’s not an easy choice is it?

When Venus conjuncts Saturn, we will be able to fix things if we want to and see where we are stable in our relationships. Saturn in Libra can be very beneficial. With Venus coming to conjunct Saturn at the end of this month and into early October, we have the whole month of September to figure it out. Oh yes, relationships are the focus this month, romantic or otherwise.

All this Libra energy is highlighted at the end of the month with the New Moon in Libra on September 27th. The things we should be focusing on during the New Moon in Libra are  relationships, teamwork, partnerships, giving and receiving support, and cooperation, our marriage, negotiation skills, harmony, teamwork, diplomacy, refinement, and healing codependency.

As this New Moon gets closer, I will have more details for you about it on my web site. Please check in the last week of September for more details.

North Wind Blowing - Time for a Change

Chocolat (Miramax Collector's Series)
In the mystical movie, Chocolat, Vianne Rocher, a young mother, arrives in the French village of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes with her six-year-old daughter, Anouk. Set, in what seems to be the 1950’s, the people of the village are expected to act a certain way, and none are supposed to be different from the next. It’s a place where the slightest stray from Church doctrine and decorum is considered a sin of God

Vianne, a free spirit, opens La Céleste Praline, a small chocolaterie, and her confections quickly begin to change the lives of the townspeople through their magical properties. Vianne’s mission is to spread the ancient remedies of chocolate, whether to heal the slightest stomach ache, mend a passionless love life, or even just to make one feel happy. With her chocolate concoctions, she has what the village craves—a sense of freedom and pleasure. The shop is owned by a mean old landlady, Armande, and even she grows to love the chocolate shop. Vianne’s success with her remedies causes the ire of Church elders who try to close the shop down but find they eventually fall prey to the spell and lure of chocolate themselves.

Vianne comes from a long line of nomadic French women who move from village to village to spread their chocolate remedies infused with the magic of love. The movie ends where it began—with the call of the North Wind. When the North Wind blows, it’s a signal they must move on.

When summer turns to fall, it always reminds me of the movie Chocolat. Like a breath of fresh air, the last week of August is blowing through my screened windows, reminding me that change is in the air. There’s something about the approaching fall season that calls upon the spirit to renew itself.

This summer seemed to creep by at a snails pace, without any movement in my work or relationships. Some would say that summer is supposed to be a time of rest, drinking in the natural beauty of flowers and oceans, and sitting out on the porch to read and dream and consider what our spirit would like to do next with the remaining minutes of life. As we enjoy the last week of August, the call to move in a new direction becomes stronger.

In some ways, September is really the start of a new year more so than January. For at least twelve years of our childhood with an additional four to six years if you attended college, the fall always signaled a time of new beginnings. It always brought new friends, new teachers, new clothes and new books to read. It’s always been an exciting time for starting with a clean slate and writing a new story.

Like Vianne in Chocolat, I believe the North Wind is beckoning our spirit to move on to experience something new and magical in our lives—perhaps time to put in place the dreams we had while sipping iced tea on the porch, day dreaming while watching the ocean waves, or staring at the ripples as we sat lazily by the lake.

Where would you like your spirit to take you next? A new village? A new relationship? A new job? The North Wind is blowing. It’s time for a change.
