SelfLove does not mean being egocentric or selfish in a negative sense. Instead, it means embracing myself fully for who I am – each and every facet of my being. It means being gentle with myself and forgiving myself for seeming mistakes or shortcomings. It means recognizing that I am already perfect just the way I am. It means allowing myself to breathe, to love myself no matter what, and to shine my Light through that inner knowingness that all is well. When I allow myself to simply be me, my true and unique inner passion can find its way into its purest expression. And with that, I can finally shine in the way I was always meant to shine.
With that I open the door to even greater transformation. For now, the desire to change and become a better and better human being, who contributes to the world in the most positive possible way, comes from the heart, rather than the inbred fear of not being good enough and having to better myself.
When I love myself fully, I am finally able to truly love others. For if I do not love myself fully, how can I love someone else completely as he or she is? If I criticize myself for something, how can I claim not to be critical of others? Criticizing others is always a reflection of self-criticism. When I see a fault in someone else, I inherently somewhere within myself believe that I am not good enough or faulty.
When I can forgive myself and be gentle with myself, I can have more compassion for others as well. It is time to realize that SelfLove and nurturing of our innermost being, is essential in being able to contribute our highest potential to the world. The better I take care of me, the more I send the message to others that taking care of ourselves is a must in these changing times. In order to have the required strength to keep up with the ever-changing circumstances, it is vital that I take care of me.
In truth, rest and play are not a luxury but rather a necessity to be the best I can be. It helps me to be able to sustain a constant pace. Rather than burning myself out, it allows me to keep on going continuously. No one is served if I were to exhaust myself. Everyone is served if I take care of me first. Just like in the instructions on any flight where we are told to place our oxygen masks on ourselves first, before assisting others.
It allows me to help beyond the first one… it is clear to many, but is it clear to you? That you ARE a lovable being and that you deserve to be loved, that you deserve to take care of you, that you deserve to find comfort in the knowingness that you are loved.
It is time that we remember that we are always worthy of the Love that we seek. But first we need to find it within ourselves, so that the outer world may mirror it for us, for that is what the outer world is – a mirror of our own inner perceptions and thoughts. When we find peace within ourselves, we then contribute to bringing peace to the Planet – one person at a time. As it is so.
