Emissary of Peace

Each of us
is an emissary of peace

at some level.

The more loving kindness,
the more compassion
we can return for
attack, hatred or pain,
the bigger an emissary we are.

Gandhi walked that quietly,
in his loin cloth.
and
Martin Luther King
with his courage and his dream
and
the Dalai Lama,
still in his spacesuit body,
teaching us compassion
as “his” monks are murdered
and monasteries destroyed.

And we struggle to hold
just equanimity,
when some one defies us
or bites us socially
or ignores our apparent worth.

“Remember,
one strong emanation of
loving light and understanding
is far greater than 10,000
who are not of such”.
Thank you Sanat Kamura
and Athene Raefiel for
reminding us about
our real job.
