I thought that a review of this cd would be apt because of the title as well as the intent of the cd. The frontispiece of the cd is a quote from Rumi: “Beyond right wrong there is a field/I meet you there.” Going beyond is the message of this cd. Beyond: Buddhist and Christian Prayers 
is a cd that had as its inspiration the August, 2005 shared ceremony of interreligious dialogue convened by the Dalai Lama and Abbot Martin Werlen, head of the Benedictine Monastery in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. Regula Curti and Dechen Shak-Dasay came together around the idea of creating this cd. They then brought Tina Turner into the project. Ms. Curti is the Founder and Managing Director of the Center of Therapy & Education SESCHAU, The house of Resounding Emptiness in Zurich. Ms. Dechen Shak-Dasay is a native Tibetan Mantra singer whose family settled in Switzerland in 1963.

In listening to this cd, I quickly center and ground.
To use a new description, the voices and music are exquisite. There are various sections, such as Heavenly Joy, Compassionate Love and Power of Forgiveness. Most of the sections have both a Christian and a Buddhist Prayer, and the cd seems to move seamlessly from one to the next in each section and then from track to track.
The cd has words spoken by Tina Turner on the first track called Spiritual Message. Her message includes sections called “Go Beyond Fear,” “Beyond Means to Feel Yourself,” “Go Beyond the Rights and Wrongs,” “Go Beyond to Feel the O-N-E-Ness of the Unity,” and on through, interestingly, to “What Does Love Have to Do with It?” where she seems to answer her own hit song by that name, saying:
"LOVE grows when you trust. When you trust LOVE heals and renews. LOVE empowers us to do great things and makes us a better person to love. LOVE makes us feel safe and brings us closer to GOD.
When you Beyond that’s where you find true love.
Keep singing – singing takes you beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond."
I recommend you buy this cd and read and hear the words for yourself. I highly recommend that you immerse yourself in the music.
